General Information

Auditions for the 2008-2009 season are scheduled for:

    Friday August 15, 2008       

    Saturday August 16, 2008   

The audition usually lasts ten minutes. The student will play in front of two judges, usually our orchestra conductors.

Fees

The audition fee for new prospective members is $25.00, there is no fee for returning members auditioning for the

following year, however there will be a penalty of $20.00 for canceling and/or changing your audition, this penalty

only applies to returning members, not new auditions.

West Suburban area musicians from middle through high school are eligible to audition for membership

Audition Requirements

• Solo material: Either one extended solo or two short contrasting solos that best demonstrate
  musical and technical abilities. An accompanist is not required nor expected.
• Sight reading: Selected from major orchestral repertoire as appropriate.
• Scales: Selected by the auditioners. Normally 3 octave scales are expected for strings and one to
  two octave scales for woodwinds, brass and mallet percussion.
